India a beautiful country. India a Rich Country, India a Brilliant Country, India a Smart Country, India a Diligent Country. All these adjectives are for the people of the country. Who are working real hard and most of them honestly to build our great country. We are a country of Super Brains with paralysed limbs. We are one of the most mismanaged country with most of the resources squandered or wasted due to inefficient managers called our politicians, no we can not call them leaders because most of them are demagogues. They are born, bred and develped in one of the most unaccountable and corrupt systems in the world. All the pillers of the democracy (Parliment,Justice,Election commission,Media) at work in India are structured with adultereated cement, rusted iron, and fragile concrete. These pillers are actually acting like parasite on the country and its people. They are feeding each other and preying on the people of the nation.
Just to take one example - The Judiciary: These guys have the guts to take summer vacation when there are so many cases pending. They can buldoze entire delhi but would spare the killers. It is a funny system where you have endless trials for open and shut cases like Rajiv Gandhi's Murder, Indira Gandhi's Murder, Attack on Parliament, Jessica Lal's murder, Priyadarshini Mattu's murder. Even a daily wagers is accountable for some work for which he is paid, but our judges have no accountablity what so ever so as to minimum number of cases being dispensed off every month or hearing in a day. If one scrutinizes the source of most of the evils in our country the ultimate fact would come out is delayed and doctored justice. This allows criminals to run scott free, fight and win elections and once The first piller of our democracy is infested by these creatures called politicians, they successfuly infect media, judiciary, and the common psyche of our nation.
Most of the media is hand and glove with the politicians, some of you who have heard Mr. Prabhu Chawala negotiate with Mr. Amar Singh regarding coverage of news reports, one can easily make out the seriousness of the corruption getting ingrained in our system.
I believe personal accountability and professional accountability are the only remedy for our great nation. The demonstration and demand for accountability could solve the problem of our nation, and allow us to be projected to the world as we actually are RICH, BRILLIANT, SMART and DILIGENT in short GREAT.

Well, what can be said!
Everything is true in this invitation writeup, but again where lies the solution? In our hands right?
Considering that about 65% of us won't turn up to vote, and enjoy the Great Indian Laughter Challenge. What can be expected is a humor theater and nothing else! First, come out and stand for your right. To bring about a law in this country, you must show unity. We at last have got a Right To Information. Start by, asking one question a day to any person you want to question. I am sure people are there who want these individuals to lead the effort.
Just be in the lookout.
Anyways...Mera Bharat Mahaan!!
You have correctly pointed out the lacuna of our great country.Judiciary system is totally toothless.Amountof cases pending in Indian courts will take yaers to be resolved. We truely believe that god decides the fate of all individuals ,thats why most of the offenders and criminals die their natural death.
To add to this , there are certain individuals who are filing illogical stupid writ petitions and cases(like case against Narain Murthy for playing national anthem).
God save the country!!!
Its okey affirmative actions are always tougher than criticism, but any action how so ever positive or active can only start with a thought, and thought provocation is the precurser for any revolution. Just by going out in the street is not a solution, shouting in front of the media and giving interviews on television is not a solution. Buring cars destroying property is not revolution it is anarchy. Just the way throwing away the plate if you do not like the food is not the solution. A thought gets generated in the mind of the person which is a unit of the people, it does not matter whether this thought is converted into determination inside a drawing room, classroom, toilet or cinema hall. I was talking about accountability in its most basic form. Accountability which is even to certain extent convenient like being accountable to the environment by using less plastic, being accountable towards one's job or profession or internal or external customers, spreading the culture of being accountable and by example. Agreed it will take time it is not overnight. We are not shooting a movie where there is limitation of footage and everything has to be finished by 10th reel. Each of us just need to ask this question to oneself. Am I behiving responsible, Can I be taken as accountable. Accountability can not be imposed it can not come as a cover, it is not body but soul of a good, answerable, accountable society. It does not matter wheter people are swayed by your opinion or mine, it is about whether they stop and think and may be few decide and still fewer act.
NEWS IN SUNDAY TOI 22ND APRIL 07. GREAT!!! THE MOVEMENT HAS ALREADY STARTED.
IITians take on PWD, to keep eye on Delhi road repairs
Nidhi Sharma | TNN
New Delhi: City roads may well be on the path to improvement if a determined bunch of students from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and other technical institutes have their way. The students, who have embarked on a mission to improve the quality of roads in the capital, have filed applications under Right to Information (RTI) Act to inspect all resurfacing and widening work being undertaken in the city.
The 46 applications cover work on all roads including Outer Ring Road, Ring Road, NH-10, NH-24 and other PWD roads in the capital. Says IIT student Saurabh Sharma, ‘‘Our main aim is to find out why roads develop potholes. The government has been pumping in money to undertake all these works and PWD has made third-party assurance mandatory for road resurfacing. Then why do roads go bad? We have filed 46 such applications seeking information and inspection regarding road works worth Rs 420 crore.’’
One such application filed by another IIT student, Swati Maliwal, seeking information on tender documents, contractor’s quotes and physical strengthening of Mother Dairy to Madhu Vihar road has already resulted in the first road inspection by students. Says Swati: ‘‘Our aim is to develop a system of parallel monitoring by citizens to check corruption and improve the quality of infrastructure works. We took a retired MCD civil engineer with us to check the strengthening work. Some students have been using this road for several months and found that the strengthening work was very slow. But just two days before our inspection, the work picked up pace suddenly.’’ Under pressure of 46 RTI applications, PWD for the first time told the students that they would be allowed to pick up samples simultaneously with the inspecting authority.
Road map: Third party checks a must
New Delhi: Delhi government has made third-party checks by a panel of institutes like Delhi College of Engineering, CRRI and IIT-Delhi mandatory for all road works like strengthening and resurfacing.
The results of the inspecting authority and the students will be compared. Saurabh Sharma, an IIT student spearheading the campaign to improve the quality of roads in the city, says: ‘‘If these laboratories pass the sample of roads, then why do our roads develop potholes so easily? There has to be something wrong with the entire process.’’
The next step is extending this initiative to flyovers, bridges, road underbridges, foot overbridges with escalators and other such urban development works. ‘‘If the government is spending money on these works, it has to be accountable to the people for the quality,’’ says Saurabh.
Interestingly, an audit of Delhi’s prominent roads that had developed potholes, conducted by Sri Ram laboratories for Delhi government last January, had revealed that these roads had been given the green light by inspecting authorities. However, the audit report revealed that the contractors had not followed basic minimum standards.
