THE DOGS ARE DEAD AND CAN BE KICKED AT WILL

On 7th January 2009, I stumbled upon a website urging people to sign petition against terrorism. The petition was hosted by Mr. H R Vaish on Dec 08, 2008. I didn't think twice before signing it, and was so overwhlemed by the idea that I could not stop my self from expressing and poured my feelings on my blog. To mobilize people, I thought that I could use orkut where my freinds and their friends could also voice their opinion against terrorism by signing the petition on the link which I displayed on my page in orkut, prominently. But how true were my sentiments mentioned in my blog. NOT A SINGLE SOUL was moved. Till date there are only 67 signatures out of a country of over a billion and an estimated 54m ever users and 43m active users of internet by March 2008. Even by very conservative estimates not less than 10000 people must have come across this petition in one way or the other, but no one bothered. On my orkut page, I can not believe that my friends did not see it because it can not escape the eyes of anyone accessing my page, but unfortunately, they were too lazy, callous and indifferent to use even a mouse click, they didn't even have to move from their chairs, spend money or anything tangible, but still....... They can spend hours together in writing nosensical scraps, loading stupid pictures and videos, or just pry into other people's friend lists; but are too busy to express solidarity for a cause which concerns us all. Good we have not been hit by any of the terrorists since Mumbai happend, But please stop! Don't congratulate yourself for this, the boys are resting and vacationing and they witll do the blasts when ever the choose and whereever they choose. They know it damn well that THE DOGS ARE DEAD AND CAN BE KICKED AT WILL. Nobody kicks a dead dog, but terrorists do.
