Why Narendra Modi is hated so much

Why certain section of media, aptly called presstitute, libtards and pseudo-seculars arrogant congress and communists are so much against one person called Narendra Modi when the entire world is praising him, the country has reposed confidence in him and is consistently supporting his mission where he is working tirelessly without taking a break, with all sincerity, and things have started looking up for our country after a long time.

Its more of a snobbish aristocratic, Engl...ish (please pronounce with heavy British accent) speaking class, who have strong belief that India owes a lot to Britishers as they civilized us and before their avatar on our land we were primitive, rustic, uncivilized backward lot. Its their non acceptance and sheer abhorrence of a person who speaks about Indian civilization, culture, values and feels proud in over 5000 years old civilization and even has the audacity to openly go and worship in temples.

So they are coming at this person with vengeance and waged a proxy war with all crooked and wicked tools in their arsenal, which includes award returning brigade, army of pimp media rabidly creating atmosphere of hopelessness and fear with great consistency, Hindu and Indian festival bashing and complete denial of anything good happening in our nation. It is also the fear of losing their undeclared kingdom and authority and privileges that they enjoyed without accountability.
Its not about a political party (because BJP was always there) but about awakening of people and the person at the helm of affairs who is acting as catalyst for this awakening and arising of a feeling of self pride; the very things which these parasites can never tolerate because it is a question of their survival. As whenever the body becomes stronger parasites, viruses, pathogens and worms are at risk of getting exterminated.

Nationalism - Practicing and propagating.

Nationalism is not a concept, it’s not a theory as is apparent when you google the word “Nationalism”, it’s beyond those definitions and expressions. It is an emotion it’s a feeling. It is a feeling of gratitude that one feels for his or her mother. A gratitude which can never be paid back. Nationalism is an extension of that feeling, the metaphor mother extends to Mother land, MatribhumiVande Matram, The expression bowing in front of mother land.  But this mother land, the nation is not a piece of land just having a geographical and political identity, it’s not just about territorial limits. It’s beyond that, Nation is its people, nation is its environment, nation is the air giving life to all those living there.  Being nationalist is not about being dogmatic about your views. It’s about being assimilative, respecting and considerate towards the opinion of others sharing the space with you.

A true nationalist would think nation first and as the term nation encompasses all that mentioned, it considers everything mentioned. But being considerate, assimilative and respecting doesn’t mean subservient, meek or accepting wrongs. And the compass to verify the right from wrong is does the action or the person fits into this Upnadishik philosophy.

सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः
सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु मा कश्चिद्दुःखभाग्भवेत्

Om, May All become Happy, May all be Free from Illness. May all see what is auspicious, may no one suffer.  Om Peace, Peace, Peace. (Daihik (Bodily), Daivik (God Sent) and Bhautik (Material))
A philosophy ingrained in and originated from the concept of Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam, the complete verse from Mahopanishad says

अयं बन्धुरयं नेति गणना लघुचेतसाम् | उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्

“This one is a relative; this other one is a stranger" is for the mean-minded. For those who're known as magnanimous, the entire world constitutes but a family. Some say Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam is another name for Globalization, it is not. There is same difference as is between transaction in a family and transaction in a market place. In the first the driving motive is goodness, well ness and shubh for everyone and larger interest of the kutumb or family and overall win-win proposition; whereas in the case of later it is profit, business, making use of opportunity, win or lose proposition.
Nationalism is about being proud without being contemptuous towards others. Nationalism is about loving, respecting and honoring your religion without disrespecting others’. Nationalism is in ownership without being masters.

Nationalism is an attitude which emanates from the belief on one’s nation’s perceived excellence.  Belief is the seed from which sprouts every human enterprise, every culture, every act of human kindness and cruelty. Like all attitudes it is also inculcated. An attitude is a component of the personality. This is manifested through acts, deeds and behaviour of the person.   Therefore, nationalism is also revealed through actions. Nationalism involves national identity; it is related to another construct called patriotism, which though involves behaviour that supports nation’s actions and decision unquestioningly.

Practicing Nationalism:
A true nationalist is one who regards his country as the cause of his existence and ready to abandon his own interests for its welfare. An avowed nationalist never minds sacrificing everything including his life for the cause of the nation.

Nationalism can’t be treated as a passive thing or inconspicuous way of leading life. It is such an active and self-motivated, inner emotion which urges him to do and dare anything for the cause of nation.
Nationalism is not a rhetoric to mobilize people, it’s an attitude demonstrated in day to day actions and transactions. There are no pre-conditions there are no convenient setting for practicing nationalism. A nationalist is a responsible citizen. A nationalist is not a silent consumer of nation’s resources, he is a positive contributor. A nationalist is responsible to his community, his neighbourhood and also takes up on himself to motivate others. A nationalist is self-motivated individual who believes nation as his God and nation as his religion.  Every national is like a cell in the body of nation, and if any cell malfunctions it influences other cells then organs and then affects the body negatively. A nationalist knows it and behaves like a responsible cell. This responsibility grows significantly if one is holding a position of governance, in civil and administrative services, in judicial services, in Universities as teachers or any other place where one is made responsible for group of citizens. A nationalist would perform his job sincerely and with full devotion.  Coming back to cell analogy, in body if left foot is injured or is having some disease, right foot or any other part of body doesn’t start acting diseased, and works absolutely fine. Same should be the attitude of a true nationalist, he should not be affected, influenced by other organs of the society or governance. His actions should always confirm to correct practices in the best interest of the nation and its people.

Ingraining Nationalism – 360 Degree Nationalism:
Nationalism is an attitude and like any attitude it cannot be taught but acquired. To teach one must practice. This is the long and short of nationalism. The observed behaviour is acquired. So Nationalism can be ingrained in the minds of young ones or even older ones only by leading by example. Like leadership, nationalism is also 360 degree, one can lead in all directions by his nationalistic attitude and behavior.  One can only inspire and then motivate, inspiration is like fragrance, if a source of inspiration is there; the inspiration would float in all direction and engulf every one if his senses are intact and receptive. This brings in another situation, are there people with intact senses? Unfortunately and sadly the situation is not so. In the race of one up man ship and consumerism and Darwinism of sorts we have lost our sensibilities and sensitivities. And in some cases we are not even conscious about it. Insensitivity is an unconscious incompetence in us. This incompetence can be cured in first being conscious about this incompetence, by realizing that yes there is a problem we have lost the capacity to sense and our sensitivity is becoming feeble every day. We need to be made aware and as responsible cells, the responsibility lies with all of us. No one is coming to do it for us, we have to do it and no right time would arrive, it is already there, the time is NOW.  By becoming conscious about this incompetence we can decide to get rid of this incompetence of insensitivity. The good news is it has not left us, it is only lying dormant and gone into hibernation because we have stopped using it and the moment we decide it will bounce back to life and make us alive again.

Some recommendations for starting this journey towards acquiring the competence of sensitivity and restarting the ingrained though dormant nationalism is like sports. Catch them young. But, one cannot expect to be cured if the doctor himself is sick with the same disease so this teaching, training, call it whatever, but it should start from top, then it will percolate to the roots.  Once the roots are wet and ground is wet with nationalism, you will find fresh seedlings cropping up, growing into plants and trees and a garden full with fragrance of nationalists.

Vidya Vs. Education

"The kind of seed sown
Will produce that kind of fruit.
Those who do good will reap good results.
Those who do evil will reap evil results.
If you carefully plant a good seed,
You will joyfully gather good fruit."
- Dhammapada

Sanskrit word 'Vidya' as it was used by the Rishis, Gurus or teachers of ancient India. 'Vid - ya'   means that which light up, illumines. As such, it was identified with knowledge that illumines the mind and soul, liberates from the fetters of ignorance – Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye. When Vidya is imbibed, assimilated with the help of Guru, who always guides you with the moral compass keeping you rooted to the North, the righteousness.
The most important tool in a ship, which sails in the high seas is the compass, without it, it will be lost in the vast ocean. No matter how so ever advanced or state of the art that ship is, without compass it’s like a floating log. Similarly no education would be helpful and would give the desired result for the benefit of self or society if it does not have “Value-Compass”.
In today’s world when we see so many state of the art ships sailing in the high seas, you admire their beauty, you admire their technology, you get awestruck by their mere size, but then you feel shocked and surprised, when you find these ships sinking, losing their ways. Huge ships like Enron, Satyam, which were sailing all right suddenly hit the iceberg and sink. When the reason for this mishap is searched, lack of moral compass somewhere always comes as a common cause in all these instances.
Values are the glue of society, values are responsible for holding together the person, organization and society. Value based education is an educational framework. It gives equal status to both character development and academic attainment.  Values-based Education is a combination of philosophy, methodology, teaching and learning materials, organizational processes and know-how. Value based education forms the base and is fundamental for larger good of the society, values of goodness in speech, value of kindness towards all those one comes in contact with whether professionally or otherwise, value of service with compassion, these are the integral component of value based education. Gautam Buddha said “Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.”
In fact if it not value based, it is anything but education. All books of knowledge and wisdom have the elements of value as the core element. In Upanishad, the guru and shishya both pray to God to help them learn in the environment of camaraderie, where they learn and enlighten themselves together. The spirit of doing things together is born out of the value of cooperation, support, helping, associating and guiding.
Om Saha Navavatu,
Saha Nau Bhunaktu,
Saha Viiryam Karavavahai
Tejasvi Nauadhii-Tam-Astu
Maa Vidvishwavahai
Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih

( Om, May God Protect us Both (the Teacher and the Student), May God Nourish us Both, May we Work Together with Energy and Vigor, May our Study be Enlightening, not giving rise to Hostility, Om, Peace, Peace, Peace)

Somehow in the process of refining the body we have removed the soul and now we are running around with the lifeless skeleton of education system, which is devoid of everything which it should have never lost.  Value education makes you compassionate, it is basically education of the heart, in contrast to the education of the mind which dominates everything. Man is much beyond logic and reason, it is compassion not reason which associates two individuals and makes the society bonded and saves it from anarchy, so it is not simply the heart of education, but also education of the heart which is paramount to the education system. Education is a small component of Vidya, which probably doesn’t have a synonymous word in English language.

Vidya has always been referred to as education with values as now we are re-discovering as value based education or VBE. Bharthari in his Neetishatak eulogizes Vidya as follows –

Vidya naam narasya roopmadhikam, prachchhanaguptam dhanam,
Vidya bhogkari yashah sukhkari Vidya gurunaam guruh
Vidya bandhujano videshgamane Vidya para devta
Vidya rajasu poojyate na hi dhanam vidyavihinam pashuh

(Vidya is such a cosmetic which makes a man attractive, Vidya is hidden and secret treasure, which makes available all worldly pleasure, fame and happiness, Vidya is the teacher of all the teachers, in foreign land it helps and supports as your friend and relative, it has the God like power of fulfilling all your desires, even kings worship Vidya, a person without Vidya is no better than an animal)

Values define the conduct of an individual, an individual’s conduct define the attitude of the society. There are three elements Vidya, Buddhi and Vivek. Vidya means that which lights up, removing the darkness of ignorance and Buddhi  is derived from  budh- to be awake, to understand, to know). Buddhi denotes an aspect of mind that is higher than the rational mind and that is attracted to Brahman (i.e., to "Truth" (sat) or "Reality" (dharma).  Buddhi is that which is able to discern truth (satya) from falsehood and thereby to make wisdom possible. Buddhi play an important role in liberation (i.e., enlightenment) within Hinduism, Buddhism and Yoga. In Kathopanishad defines the significance of this entity called buddhi as

Atmanang rathinang viddhi sharirang rathmev tu
Buddhi tu sarthing viddhi manah pragrahmev ca

Consider Atma as the passenger on the chariot, body as chariot, buddhi is the driver of this chariot and mana being the rein.

Vivek, is the ability to discriminate, differentiate right from the wrong, is the ability to use Vidya and Gyan (Knowledge) appropriately, as rishi Patanjali describes the attributes of one who has Vivek (Vivekinah)

Parinama tapa samskara dukhaih gunavritti
Virodhat ca dukkham eva sarvam vivekinah

The discriminating person knows, that all conditions are distressful, because of circumstantial changes, strenuous endeavor, impulsive motivation, clashing aspects and the vibrational modes of the mento-emotional energy.

Assimilation of value attributes brings out all these qualities in the students and if education is devoid of values, it generates situations where a person has the power but doesn’t have the sense or diligence to use it appropriately. Many anomalies of our society and present day’s world may be traced back to persons and organizations using their resources (which include power) in senseless manner.

Attributes of Value based education:

1.       Refinement and development of mind (buddhi):   Rishis invoke Guru Brihashpati and Sun God to grant the wisdom to develop buddhi and have all round development of the individual

baRhspto saivatva-Qa-yaOnaM jyaaotyaOnaM saaOBagaaya
saMiSatM icat\ saMtrM saM iSaSaaiQa ivaSvaM enamanau madnt dovaa:

Brihaspatey savitarvardhayainam jyotyainam saubhagaay
Sanshitang chit sangtarang sang shishadhi vishvang einmanu madant devaah (Atharved 7:16:1)

The objective of education is to develop and refine the student’s buddhi, to sharpen it and to help him progress on the path of development of self, doing an all-round development of the individual.

2.       Character development and behavioral (Aachaar) education:  The objective of Vidya is to make the person humble, one of the most significant value attribute in an individual.

विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयाद्याति पात्रताम्
पात्रत्वाद्धनमाप्नोति धनाद्धर्मं ततः सुखम्

(true/complete) knowledge gives discipline, from discipline comes worthiness, from worthiness one gets wealth, from wealth (one does) good deeds, from that (comes) joy.

Education may be imparted but Vidya must be imbibed, the person should be ready to accept it. The beauty of Vidya is in its voluntary acceptance, a seeker of Vidya is always hungry for more, and is asking for more, looking out for more, and this brings in humility which makes the person respect his teacher. There is a story in Ramayan, Raavan was a great scholar, capable ruler and was a very learned king, was respected all around for his wisdom, at the end of the war, when he was lying wounded, Ram was victorious, he sent Lakshman to seek Ravana’s blessings and learn Raajneeti Shashtra from him, Lakshman went as stood there near his head, but Raavan didn’t speak a word, disappointed Lakshman, returned and told Ram, that Raavan didn’t utter a word, despite his request. Ram asked Lakshman, where were you standing, and when Lakshman said I was standing towards his head, Ram scolded and said you should go to him and stand near his feet, because if you wish to learn something from someone you need to be humble, and respectful towards your teacher, irrespective of who he is. The value called humility the pre-requisite for Vidya.

The value based education inculcates an attitude of gratitude. Being grateful brings in humility and vice versa.

Humility is further highlighted in following shloka

sauKsya maUlaM Qama-: Qama-sya maUlaM Aqa-:
Aqa-sya maUlaM rajyaM rajyasya maUlaM [ind`yajaya:
[ind`yajayasya maUlaM ivanaya

Sukhasya moolang dharmah dharmasya moolang arthah
Arthasya moolang rajyang rajyasya moolang indriyajayah
Indriyajayasya moolang vinay.

Gratefulness which comes out of humility is eulogized as

Kritartho hyacharyo naam bhavati (Taittariya Upnishad – Shankarbhashya)
One who is grateful becomes the learned.

Tulsidas in ramcharit manas says

itima sauK sampit ibanaihM baulaae Qama-saIla pih jaaih sauBaa[-
Timi sukh sampati binahi bulaaye, dharamseel pahin jaahi subhaay
                                                                                                            (Ram Charit Manas, Baalkaand )
To a virtuous man the world abounds in happiness and

ijaima sairta saagar mahuÐ jaahIM jaVip taih kamanaa naahIM
Jimi sarita sagar mahun jaaheen, jadyapi taahi kaamna naahi

Such a virtuous man gets all the good things in life without even asking, as all the rivers flow into the ocean without ocean even expressing its desires for it.

3.       Objective to focus on the goal with dedication:  Working with sincerity and dedication to achieve one’s goal is paramount in achieving success. Importance of dedication is mentioned in Yajurved

va`tona dIxaamaaPnaaoit dIxayaaPnaaoit daixaNaama
dixaNaa EawamaaPnaaoit Eawyaa  sa%yamaaPyato

Vraten Deekshamaapnoti deekshyaapnoti dakshinaam
Dakshina shraddhamaapnoti shraddhyaa satyamaapyate  (Yajurved 19:30)

Sincere effort makes a person gain knowledge, with knowledge comes expertise, with expertise comes respectfulness  and with this attributes one attains the truth.

The emphasis on the truth and on righteousness in the Ved and Upnishads and their connection are similar to what we find in the famous doctrine of Socretes, “Virtue is Knowledge”.

4.       Amalgamation of Vidya & Buddhi: Knowledge and Wisdom go hand in hand; in fact Atharv Ved says that knowledge (Vidya) without practical wisdom (Dhi) is not of much use. Knowledge which is devoid of practical and social wisdom is not knowledge in true sense.

SaM naao dovaa ivaSvadovaa Bavantu SaM sarsvatI sah QaIiBarstu Aqavao-d (19.11.2)

5.       Coordination of Spiritualism and Materialism: The values propagated in ancient scriptures and ved stress the importance of coordination and balance between spiritualism and materialism, because only materialism or naturalism is of no good and pure spiritualism is even worse, therefore a balanced coordination of the two is desirable. Materialism solves the problems of physical world and spiritualism gives solace and inner comfort.

Screw it, Lets Do it

I was reading one of Richard Branson's quick reads,  " Lessons in Life, Screw it, Lets Do it". Global entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson has built a business empire and made billions, yet is renowned for his approachability, ability to challenge and succeed against the odds. In this book he has narrated many interesting instances of his life, the odds which he fought against to turn the tables in his favor. In fact he started the habit of fighting the odds quite early in his life, in fact from the time he started going to school. At school he found reading and writing hard, back then dyslexia wasn't understood and his teachers just thought that he was lazy. Instead of getting bogged down he taught himself to learn things by heart and he says "Now I have a very good memory and it has become one of my best tools in business".

The people who see failure, see mountains, but people like Branson see mountains as slightly differently shaped roads. The image of failure is much larger than the size of the thing which might cause it. The staff at virgin have a name for Sir Branson, its 'Dr Yes'. He says "they call me this because I won't say no. I find more reasons to do things than not to do them. My motto really is: 'Screw it - lets do it!'."

When Richard Branson was only 15, he started Student magazine, people said he couldn't do it. They said he was too young and had no experience. They were right and made sense, but Branson believed in his dream and thought it could be done. He did his sums with care, worked out how mch the paper and print bill would be. Then he worked out the income sales and from selling advertising pages, his mother gave him 4 pounds for stamps, his school frined Jonny Gems and he spent almost two years wrting hundreds of letters trying to sell space. He also tried to get interviews with famous people. His efforts paid when he got his first cheque for advertising space. It was 250 pounds, a huge amount. His belief paid off.

All of us say NO to things, activities, tasks and most of the time because we think, what if it fails!!!.
Fear of failure is the most dreaded fears of all. In our world where you have phrases like "nothing succeeds like success" Such fears get more institutionalized. Failure is taken as a dreaded disease and the person who fails is treated as an outcast. The fear of failure keeps us from trying to succeed. The fear of losing keeps us from trying. The fear of what everyone else will think, keeps us from stepping out boldly. The fear of ridicule keeps us from declaring our failure. When we overcome this fear, we don't even bother if we have failed in our attempts, we just know that we have not reached yet, and need more walking. If the path you travel has no obstacles, it leads nowhere.

Fear of change, fear of taking risks, fear of ridicule or that someone will disapprove of your goals and dreams - these are the enemies of intention and transformation. Enemy of fear is courage, courage is not the absense of fear, it is acting in spite of fear.

Only humans know how to laugh and how to laugh at. And because of this unique competency of knowing how to laugh at, they have developed this dreaded disease called Atychiphobia (from the Greek phóbos, meaning "fear" or "morbid fear" and atyches meaning "unfortunate"). It is the abnormal, unwarranted, and persistent fear of failure. It is a disease, which has spread like plague killing innovation, inventions, creativity, enthusiasm.

All of us have watched lion chasing his prey in discovery channel. To catch their prey lions have to be smart. If the prey is sighted some distance away the lions may at first move quite rapidly towards them. As they approach they go into the stalking posture with heads and bodies held low, intently watching the prey, freezing should they look in their direction, then moving forward as the prey look away, or down to continue feeding. Eventually, if they are lucky, the lions manage to get within striking distance, which is 20-30 m from the prey. When they strike the prey still have a better than even chance of escaping. And if they escape, lion just walks away stoically to hunt again. No shame, no fear. No atychiphobia.

FORPOON

On a drizzling Bombay morning, on my way to the airport, I passed  a construction site, I saw state of the art machinary, the tower cranes, caterpillers, bulldozers, excavators and many more. Not  an unusual sight. But a sudden thought struck me and I started wondering how these impressive machines were designed, how they were transformed from few lines on the drawing boards to diesel guzzling mammoth engineering marvels.

I had the usual encounter with security personnel at the airport gate, where they asked for the ticket printout and checked my id. While looking at the extra serious and overtly unfriendly face of the CISF jawan, I realized that Indian Railway has scored one point over our airlines. They have done away with the paper ticket. This is actually an internationally accepted environment friendly innovation .You can imagine the count of trees that are being saved.

Most of us at the airport have the usual pattern after checking in the luggage and going through the security, we either go to the shops at the airport and do some impulse buying or go to the food counters and do some impulse eating. I decided to do the latter. Picked up my dosa and coffee, and then went on to pick up the fork and spoon in reflex, but didnt find any. I found this unique looking object, spoon and fork together, didn't know what to call it. Do I call it Forpoon or Spork I wondered.Sipping my coffee I marvelled at this innovative creation.  Saves the trouble of  managing two separate inventories. There is always an imbalance in the number of forks and spoons, as some times more spoons are utilized and at other times, more forks. INNOVATION!!! Ting!!!. This is the word, chasing me since morning. The engineering marvels at the construction site, the ticket story at the security gate and now this forpoon. (I will chose this name because it rhymes with harpoon and sounds like a real gadget).

What triggers innovation? When and and in what circumstances a falling apple triggers the thought of a fundamental concept of physics? When a Walter Hunt, a farmer, holding a degree in masonry folds a wire innovatively and invents a safety pin. Can innovation be taught or one should just wait for it to occur. But to answer this one has to decide what innovation is, is it a skill, an art which is teachable, inculcatable? Or is it like something unique happening to a particular person at some time and space, decided by the unknown. I googled and found the definition - "Innovation is the creation of better or more effective products, processes, services, technologies, or ideas that are readily available to markets, governments, and society."

Well, "creation of better or more effective products, services, technologies or ideas", Don't we hire professionals for this purpose? Professionals as we try to make at our management schools, engineering colleges, medical colleges or law colleges. If we just evaluate the process of education and training, in our schools, colleges and even in organizations, we find it is conditioned, it is very strictly modelled, formated, because it is always easy to follow the beaten path, because it is "Safe", "Tried and tested". But this affinity to "Tried and tested" is the killer, it murders innovation. It also challanges us to always be on our toes. It also causes insecurity, when you find your student or your junior coming up with an idea which you could not think of despite your experience or degrees.

Innovation is as natural to humans and other animals as is breathing. Innovation is what a chimpanzee does to take out ants from the burrows, innovation is what Red-breasted Nuthatches does when it applies pine tree sap below the nest hole to restrict predator access, its what Great Crested Flycatches does when it diplays a shed snakeskin at the entrance of the nest to ward off predators.

But seeds of innovation can grow only on fertile ground, prepared through encouragement, acceptance of failure, and by not being too measurement centric. Innovation is nurtured by asking questions and searching for answers, but unfortunately in our lecture centric education system, most questions are asked by teachers not by students. Since school days, somehow in our verve for cluttering brains with information rather than wisdom, we end up suffocating their questioning ability. By the time a student reaches professional college, very few manage to preserve curiosity, and courage to ask questions.

Innovation is also result of an attitude. Attitude of creating better or more effective products, processes, services, technologies, or ideas that are readily available to markets, governments, and society. An attituded can always be mended, modified, corrected, positioned rightly through awareness, and sharing in non offensive way. So, it is a good news!!. Innovation can be taught, though only through an innovative process of training!!!

Out of curiosity I looked up Indian inventions and discoveries, ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_inventions_and_discoveries) and was surprised there were so many. But  was also disappointed to find that most of them were in the era BC or by Indians working in foreign lands. This suggests two points - One we have the best of brains and secondly that we are structurally and methodically killing the ability to innovate. Academecians and policymakers need to bring their heads together, because the situation is pretty grim. But hey we still have hope: "Forpoons".

Another name for my discovery by dictionary.com

Spork is a hybrid word for a hybrid utensil with the round bowl of a "spoon" and the pointy tines of a "fork." The first American spork was patented by Samuel W. Francis in 1874. His original design also included a knife edge. (What would that word have been? Kniforkon?) "Spork" itself didn't appear in a dictionary until 1909. If you feel like mixing up your diction, "foon" is also an accepted name for this portman-tensil.

THE DOGS ARE DEAD AND CAN BE KICKED AT WILL

On 7th January 2009, I stumbled upon a website urging people to sign petition against terrorism. The petition was hosted by Mr. H R Vaish on Dec 08, 2008. I didn't think twice before signing it, and was so overwhlemed by the idea that I could not stop my self from expressing and poured my feelings on my blog. To mobilize people, I thought that I could use orkut where my freinds and their friends could also voice their opinion against terrorism by signing the petition on the link which I displayed on my page in orkut, prominently. But how true were my sentiments mentioned in my blog. NOT A SINGLE SOUL was moved. Till date there are only 67 signatures out of a country of over a billion and an estimated 54m ever users and 43m active users of internet by March 2008. Even by very conservative estimates not less than 10000 people must have come across this petition in one way or the other, but no one bothered. On my orkut page, I can not believe that my friends did not see it because it can not escape the eyes of anyone accessing my page, but unfortunately, they were too lazy, callous and indifferent to use even a mouse click, they didn't even have to move from their chairs, spend money or anything tangible, but still....... They can spend hours together in writing nosensical scraps, loading stupid pictures and videos, or just pry into other people's friend lists; but are too busy to express solidarity for a cause which concerns us all. Good we have not been hit by any of the terrorists since Mumbai happend, But please stop! Don't congratulate yourself for this, the boys are resting and vacationing and they witll do the blasts when ever the choose and whereever they choose. They know it damn well that THE DOGS ARE DEAD AND CAN BE KICKED AT WILL. Nobody kicks a dead dog, but terrorists do.

Stop Terrorism – Start Legal Action in International Courts

Terrorism is a disease more deadly than AIDS and more pervasive than common cold and changing faces more frequently and efficiently than the deadliest polymorphic bacteria. But before we loose all hope after seeing this gloomy picture, let me assure you that, we have the most powerful, most effective and totally guranteed cure available with us. That cure is US. (not as in United States!!!) it is our good old pronoun but very strong and powerful provided WE use it that way. Terrorism breeds and feeds on individualism and opportunism of society and polity. Though the control of much of the polity is beyond us, despite our claim to be the most populous democracy. But being a unit of the society, sure we can do a lot about it, just by doing very small, simple and doable steps, like behaving responsibly and looking after the interest of the community before self. This may sound like motherhood statement or preaching, but like it or not the solution starts from here. Because this act shall create a bonding amongst all of us and help us have a single voice because now every individuals' interest will converge with the community's interest, and then we might be in a position to correct the polity as well. Remember the paranoia that our politicians had when they saw people of Mumbai uniting for a cause, I wish that feeling of solidarity spreads and stays a little longer to have a lasting impact on the way we function as a nation.
Terrorists are a minority, terrorists are the most fearful people, terrorists don't belong to any religion or region because they serve neither. They are the viruses attacking our society. Just like real biological virus; they do not win because of their strength but because of weakness, vulnerability and loss of defence of the individual.

Lets secure ourselves and our society from this scum once and forever.
